What a fun weekend! Yesterday I went to a mom2mom sale with my new friend Sam. These sales are kind of ruthless. There were women lined up outside the door and they will mow you down to get to the big ticket items - yikes! For those of you who don't know what they are it is a bunch of moms that rent tables and sell their kids toys and clothes. The big ticket items are baby things like cribs and strollers and little kitchens and other fun stuff.
It is funny our new friends our Sam and Chris and my parents have friends named Sam and Chris but our genders are switched ;0) Anyway Sam and I are there for like 10 minutes and I had to call Bill because I found a huge tugboat sandbox with cover for $25. We thought we would be able to fit it into Sam's jeep but we were wrong so I called Bill and he brought the trailblazer with the trailer behind it so Sam & I could stay and do some more shopping. I bought a couple of cute things too.
When I got home we then went to Great Lakes Crossing and took a few things back to Carters and bought some summer clothes. I think I need to take inventory and may need to take some back. That seems to happen to Bill & I. We sometimes buy a lot of clothes and then realize we went overboard. I know, surprise, surprise! We then went to The Baby's Room and picked up the rails for Canon's convertible crib. They have been waiting for us to pick them up for 3 months now. After that we went to Babies R Us and looked at umbrella strollers but we decided the stroller we have should work for what we need. We big run into Brooke and her sister (my bud) Sarah. Poor Sarah was registering and was feeling a bit overwhelmed, boy do we remember what that was like. We also helped another couple figure out the stroller they were looking at (same as ours) by showing them how easy it was to break down and how easy it is to get Canon in and out. They were so greatful to us. We did buy a hook-on highchair. It is the same one Ian has and he seems to love it so we got it for the Grandmas houses and restaurants. We also got some cute Detroit Tigers gear for the little man. We had lots of fun!
Today Bill did demo in the basement. He tore down all the ceiling tile and put it in bags. It was like 4 or 5 huge bags full. He also cleaned up down there and moved the furniture out of the way. We picked our carpeting tile last week and we just need to see if any reps can get us a better deal than having to pay shipping.
We also took a walk around the neighborhood. Canon LOVED it. He LOVES walks! When we got back we gave him rice cereal! We got all psyched up for it and he was really good...
It is Bill's turn to throw his spin on the rice cereal:
So, there we were sitting in the Dining Room ( I know big surprise, we ate at the table). Canon was sitting in his Baby Tenda (a really expensive eating table thingy, that we just had to have). I am sure he is thinking:
"...Why are Mom and Dad sitting next to me? What is Dad mixing 'my milk' with? Why is Mom taking pictures with that huge camera? That is an interesting bowl, it is green and I sure it resembles a frog (although I do not know what a frog is). Mom is putting this odd towel around my neck. Wait a minute, Dad gave Mom the bowl and he took the camera. Mom is feeding me something. It tastes sort of like milk, but with a weird texture. What is this stuff..."
That is when he turned and looked at Joleen with the look of, what was that? He ate a few more spoonfuls, much more than we had planned on. He did soooo well. He went to bed tonight without a fuss. He is such a good little boy.
Have a great evening everyone!!
