Wow, I can not believe that Canon is 10.5 months already! He weighed 18 lbs 15 oz and was 29 inches long at his appt today. He has a cold and are watching the right ear to make sure it doesn't turn into a nasty infection. We had to wait a 1/2 hour for the dr today to do his ear recheck and waiting with a squirmy baby that wants to explore is difficult. I should have put shoes on him so he could have cruised around but I didn't and then he wouldn't sit still so it was a challenging appt. but we got through it.
I spent all weekend with Canon while Bill was on his annual bike trip with the boys. We had fun. We hung out with Aunt Beth and Uncle Conor. Canon had his first trip to Whole Foods with Aunt Beth and Uncle Conor. Canon and I went to Costco and he picked out a book. He was such a good patient little boy. It was so cute at the end of the trip he was putting his head on the cart handle and reaching out to me because he wanted me to hold him so I picked him up and maneuvered the gigantor cart to the checkout. He gots lots of smiles and coos from everyone there though.
Let's see Canon is doing lots now. On the weekends are when we see the most development. Things he is now doing:
- Pulling himself up on things. He's been doing that for about a month now.
- Becoming an expert crawler (he's FAST).
- I would say he is cruising now along furniture at times.
- Playing with the buttons on the tv now.
- Chasing the kitty.
- Saying mama and dada.
- Reaching out for people.
- Reaching out for you to pick him up in his crib.
- Standing up in his crib.
- Pushing away things.
- Holding his bottle.
- Drinking out of a sippy cup.
- Eating cheerios like they're going out of style.
- Trying every kind of food he can get his pincer grasp on ;0)
- Displaying separation anxiety when you aren't in the same room.
- Sometimes gets upset when you are not playing with him. He likes when you are down at his level.
- Fights you when you are trying to strap him into his carseat.
- Throws toys and nuks. Also puts his nuk back in.
- Likes cords and wires! Zoiks!!!
- GROWING UP SO FAST! I look at him sometimes and already can't believe how big he is and how much he knows already.
Well, until next time. Take care!
